Benefits of Battery Back up.

The vital role of a secondary power supply

Mains supply to the alarm could be lost in the event of a mains failure through inclement
weather/utility company failure, or just running out of credit on your prepayment card.
The back up battery will then operate the alarm until mains power is restored.

Of course in a fire there is also the danger that damaged mains cabling may also cut supplies.

On our mains alarms with loose battery back up we fit the Duracell Alkaline Ultra battery;
our tests show this outperforms others on the market;Kidde builds up to a quality,
not down to a price.

Our Rechargeable models have 4 lithium cells, not 3 as most others use; this provides an
even longer period of back up protection~up to 8 months in DC mode.

Rechargeable Lithium
Cells: Kidde use 4 not 3
to provide longer back up

Public Housing:

In Social {Public} Housing we always recommend the use of an alarm type with an integral sealed in battery;
this could be 4 rechargeable Lithium cells as shown on left, or in our cable harness range, a primary
lithium cell.

Though more expensive to purchase, the fact that these sealed in back up models have full 10 year
guarantees, means the overall cost of ownership over 10 years is in fact less.

Unlike many manufacturers who claim a 10 year life - we GUARANTEE both the alarm & the battery/ies.

Our standard products offer a quality Alkaline battery for
maximum life,
and the alarm unit itself
enjoys a 6 year guarantee
.
